- That the service in charge of the management and issuance of CITES certificates formally notify the Generalitat of its agreement with said possession, trade, exchange or use in breeding projects, after developing the necessary documentary analyzes.
- That the national scientific authority of the CITES Convention report favorably such possession, in particular, in relation to the introduction and proliferation of species, subspecies or geographic races other than the autochthonous ones, to the extent that they can compete with them, alter their genetic purity or ecological balances.

PARQUES ZOOLÓGICOS (PZ). Para animales en peligro de extinción y vulnerables, solamente podrá autorizarse su tenencia en PZs si su estancia en ellos está prevista en el Plan de Recuperación de la especie o el PZ participa en un proyecto de conservación “in situ”. Para animales del APENDICE-I CITES solamente si el PZ participa en un proyecto de su conservación “in situ” (Art.27.i.1 y 27.i.2 del DECRETO 158/1996, del Consell - Modificado por DECRETO 83/2007)

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Justify provenance of an authorized trade or center or be second and successive generations of a legally acquired animal.
“ Pets are those that are raised and reproduced in order to live with people, without any lucrative activity.
This Law will be applicable to all arthropods, amphibians, fish, reptiles, birds and companion mammals whose commercialization or possession is not prohibited.

COLLECTIONS. For any concentration of animals that may constitute COLLECTION, regardless of their status as wild or domestic and whether or not they are included in protection lists, it is mandatory to register the facilities where they are found as a Zoo.
